Chief Justice Randolph to administer professionalism oath to law students August 9, 2021 Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Randolph will administer the Oath of Professionalism to new law students entering Mississippi College School of Law during an orientation program Aug. 10 at the campus in downtown Jackson. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome from Mississippi College President Dr. Blake Thompson and Mississippi College School of Law Dean Patricia Bennett. Mississippi Bar President Robert L. Gibbs will speak at 10 a.m. Chief Justice Randolph will speak, then administer the Professionalism Oath to incoming law students. Judges and attorneys from across the state will spend more than an hour in small group discussions with the 145 first year law students during the afternoon. Justice James D. Maxwell II of Oxford will give the keynote address during the James O. Dukes Law School Professionalism Program at the University of Mississippi School of Law on Aug. 20. The University of Mississippi program will be a virtual presentation. The annual James O. Dukes Law School Professionalism Program is sponsored by the Mississippi Bar as part of orientation for students entering law school at Mississippi College School of Law and the University of Mississippi School of Law. The program is named in honor of its founder, the late James O. Dukes of Gulfport, who served as Mississippi Bar president 1999-2000. #### |
